When you import the MIDI, it lets you map each midi channel to an NES channel. The problem is, it imports them as Konami VRC6 instruments, yet the graphic is for the original NES 2A03. This makes pretty much all channels unplayable in their current state.

Put the cursor in one of the VRC6 channels and then create a new instrument like usual. A new option to create an instrument also appears when you click the "New instrument" button below the instrument list.
