Web18 feb. 2024 · Hi I was wondering how to type the rupee symbol. On my keyboard the 4 key shows a dollar sign ($) and a rupee sign (which I don't know how to type). Ctrl+Alt+4 gives me ¤. On key 5 it shows % and €. When I do Ctrl+Alt+5 gives me € which is shown on the keyboard. However Ctrl+Alt+4 gives me ¤ when it shows a rupee sign on the keyboard. On 10 August 2010, the Unicode Technical Committee accepted the proposed code position U+20B9 ₹ INDIAN RUPEE SIGN. The character has been encoded in Unicode 6.0, and named distinctly from the existing character U+20A8 ₨ RUPEE SIGN, which will continue to be available as the generic rupee sign.
