Nicole is expected to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane late Wednesday or overnight Thursday. Here is a county-by-county list of shelters available: WebSpecial Needs Shelters. A special needs shelter will be designated to provide basic medical assistance and monitoring. Those with special needs should enroll in the Martin County Special Needs Registry. The county will arrange for transportation and shelter for those who are enrolled. You may also enroll by calling (772) 287-1652.
