Webb15 dec. 2014 · When I go into Computer Management I can see the drive (as "Disk 2, Unknown, Not Initialized"), but when I attempt to initialize it or right-click and select "Offline" It tells me that "the device is not ready". This was my secondery drive with all my personnel files, not a bootable drive. WebbReplace the PCB of the drive with an exact same one, check for stuff like amount of sectors, platters. It needs to EXACTLY match, try to find a second handed version of the harddrive or enclosure if you cant buy it new. (Works if the SATA<->Drive controler or anything related to it is broken.

You wouldn't need it turned into a dynamic volume since you are not running a server OS there. Most desktops and laptops alike 99% simply see a basic volume to begin with.
