In this layer, we have various protocols such as HTTP, DNS, SMTP, FTP. The transport and internet layers in TCP/IP work, as I described in the OSI model. WebbMost TCP/IP application layer protocols were developed before the emergence of personal computers, GUIs, and multimedia objects. As a result, these protocols implement little of the functionality that is specified in the OSI model presentation and session layers. The next sections describe the OSI presentation and session layers in more detail.
